Job Description: Beverage R&D Chemist / Food Technologist
Position Title:
Beverage R&D Chemist / Food Technologist specialized in beverage syrup and powder

Department:
Research & Development (R&D) – Beverage Division

Location:
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Job Purpose
To design, test, and launch shelf-stable beverages (powder, syrups, juices, RTD tea/coffee, etc.) that meet market demands and regulatory standards in Saudi Arabia and the GCC.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop new shelf-stable drink formulations.
• Optimize recipes for taste, cost, and stability.
• Conduct lab tests: pH, Brix, microbial stability, sensory evaluation.
• Design pilot trials and scale-up to factory production.
• Establish Shelf-Life Studies and prepare reports.

Qualifications /
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or Food Technology.
• 3–5 years experience in beverage development or food R&D (preferably shelf-stable drinks).
• Knowledge of thermal processing (pasteurization, hot-fill, UHT, aseptic).
• Strong skills in lab analysis (pH, Brix, microbiology basics).
• Familiarity with SFDA regulations and GCC standards.
• Excellent communication skills (English essential, or Arabic a plus).\

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) /
• Number of new formulations developed and validated per quarter.
• Reduction in cost per liter vs. benchmark.
• Time-to-market for new products.
• Compliance rate with SFDA/GSO standards.
