Job Title : MEP Mechanical QC Engineer
Job Description
Review project specifications, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), method statements, and material submittals for mechanical works.
• Conduct inspections of mechanical installations (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, piping, equipment installation, etc.) in coordination with site execution teams.
• Monitor and record quality of works against approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Raise, follow up, and close NCRs, CARs, and site observations in coordination with the QAQC Manager.
• Verify calibration and validity of testing/measuring instruments used in inspections.
• Ensure contractor/subcontractor works are executed in compliance with approved procedures.
• Prepare daily and weekly inspection reports, checklists, and quality records for submission to the client/consultant.
• Participate in internal/external audits and provide necessary support in close-out of audit findings.
• Ensure compliance with project quality plans, ISO standards, and relevant codes (ASME, SMACNA, NFPA, etc.).
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, and third-party testing agencies for inspections and approvals.
• Monitor welding, piping, and mechanical installation works ensuring adherence to WPS/PQR and QAQC procedures.
• Support the QAQC Manager in implementing corrective/preventive measures to improve site quality.
• Provide training and guidance to site teams on mechanical QAQC procedures and inspection requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
2. Minimum 5–7 years of experience in QA/QC for mechanical works in construction/infrastructure projects.
3. Strong knowledge of international standards and codes (ASME, ASTM, API, NFPA, SMACNA, etc.).
4. Certification in QA/QC, Welding Inspection (CSWIP/AWS), or related quality systems (ISO 9001) preferred.
PREFERRED SKILLS
1. Hands-on experience in inspections of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, piping, and mechanical equipment installations.
2. Familiarity with MEP systems testing, commissioning, and quality documentation.
3. Strong report-writing and communication skills for interaction with clients and consultants.
4. Competency in using QAQC software/EDMS for inspection tracking and reporting.
