Electrical Technician

Job Summary:

The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Maintenance

Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, lighting, and control systems.

Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical panels, motors, generators, and transformers.

Troubleshooting & Repair

Diagnose electrical issues using appropriate testing devices (e.g., multimeter, clamp meter, megger).

Repair electrical faults in equipment and ensure minimum downtime.

Identify and replace defective components such as fuses, switches, and circuit breakers.

Technical & Documentation

Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

Record all maintenance and repair activities accurately.

Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes and safety standards.

Safety & Compliance

Follow safety protocols and use appropriate PPE during all work activities.

Conduct lockout/tagout procedures when working on live systems.

Support energy efficiency and environmental protection initiatives.

Teamwork & Support

Collaborate with engineers and other technicians during project execution.

Assist in commissioning and testing of new electrical systems.

Provide technical support and training to junior technicians when required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance or installation (preferably in industrial/construction projects).

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, VFDs, and control panels.

Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.

Familiar with Saudi Aramco / NEC / IEC standards (preferred).

Good communication and teamwork skills.
