Job Description

To execute and oversee the electrical testing and commissioning activities of the solar power plant in compliance with project specifications, client standards, and international codes. The role ensures the safe, efficient, and timely energization of all electrical systems and equipment within the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and carry out testing and commissioning of electrical systems in the solar power plant (MV/LV systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, SCADA, etc.).

Review and implement commissioning procedures, test formats, and checklists in line with project and client requirements

Coordinate with EPC, OEM, and subcontractor teams during pre-commissioning and commissioning stages.

Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, primary & secondary injection tests, relay settings, functional tests, and system energization activities.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during testing and commissioning to ensure smooth operation.

Prepare and maintain accurate test reports, log sheets, and commissioning documentation.

Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with HSE policies, lockout–tagout (LOTO) procedures, and electrical safety standards.

Support interface and integration activities with NG / SEC (National Grid / Saudi Electricity Company) for grid synchronization and approvals

Participate in final acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) and handover procedures to operations.

Assist in training the O&M team for post-handover operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

5–10 years of experience in Electrical Testing & Commissioning, with at least 2–3 years in solar power plant projects (utility scale).

Hands-on experience with testing equipment such as relay test kits, primary injection sets, IR testers, and multifunction meters.

Experience with grid-connected solar plants, including MV substations and interface with SEC / NG.

Knowledge of IEC standards, Saudi electrical regulations, and safety procedures

Valid certifications in Electrical Safety / Testing (preferred).

Good communication and reporting skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Prior experience in KSA or Gulf region is preferred.
