BIM Manager
Job Description
A BIM Architect Manager combines an architectural background with Building Information Modeling (BIM) expertise to manage the creation and coordination of digital project models, ensuring design accuracy and resolving potential clashes before construction. They lead BIM implementation, set project standards, train teams, and collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate different models into a comprehensive virtual building simulation, ultimately improving project efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Implementation & Standards: Develop and enforce BIM standards, workflows, and protocols for projects, ensuring consistency and quality.
Model Coordination: Lead BIM coordination meetings, manage multiple design models (architecture, structural, MEP), and integrate them into a master model to identify and resolve conflicts.
Team Leadership & Training: Train, mentor, and guide project teams on BIM tools, best practices, and software implementation, fostering a culture of BIM proficiency.
Project Oversight: Oversee the BIM process from design through construction and operation, ensuring the digital model accurately reflects the final building.
Technical Expertise: Troubleshoot model-related issues, assist with complex modeling tasks, and stay informed about new BIM tools and technologies.
Skills and Qualifications
Architectural Knowledge: A strong understanding of the design process and architectural principles.
BIM Software Proficiency: Extensive knowledge of BIM software like Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360.
Project Management: Strong project management, leadership, and communication skills.
Industry Experience: Proven experience in architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) with hands-on BIM implementation.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical and process challenges.
