Role Description:

We are looking for a Tendering and Cost Engineer with Landscaping knowledge who will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, competitive bids, and technical proposals specifically for landscape, irrigation, and soft/hardscape projects. The role involves analyzing tender documents, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams, and ensuring all proposals meet client requirements and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Tendering & Proposal Development

• Review and analyze landscape tender documents including drawings, BOQs, specifications, and scope of work.

• Prepare technical and commercial proposals for landscape, irrigation, softscape, and hardscape projects.

• Identify tender requirements, project risks, and clarifications.

• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary.

• Ensure timely submission of fully compliant tender packages.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for landscape materials, plants, hardscape elements, irrigation systems, labor, equipment, and subcontractor works.

• Develop accurate BOQs, pricing sheets, and cost breakdowns.

• Evaluate quotations from suppliers of plants, soil, irrigation equipment, paving materials, and landscape accessories.

• Maintain an updated cost database for landscape and irrigation materials.

• Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams to gather technical inputs.

• Study landscape drawings, irrigation layouts, plant schedules, and specifications.

• Review project requirements and propose optimized solutions and value engineering options.

• Support contract negotiation with clients and subcontractors

• Conduct market research on landscape materials, plant availability, market rates, and industry pricing trends.

• Assess project risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

• Analyze previous bids and project outcomes to improve accuracy and competitiveness.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related fields.

• 2–5+ years of experience in tendering, costing, or estimation for landscape/irrigation projects.

• Strong background in softscape, hardscape, and irrigation systems.

• Ability to interpret landscape and irrigation drawings (AutoCAD preferred).

• Strong knowledge of plant species, soil types, irrigation components, and landscape execution practices.

• Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation tools.

• Understanding of local market prices for landscape and irrigation materials.

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.

• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

• High attention to detail and ability to work under strict deadlines.

• Organized with good time management skills.
